Most poor students in India do not graduate from High School, because they are unable to
concentrate on studies due to financial constraints and inadequate guidance. Not having the
skills needed to obtain even the most basic employment, almost all high school drop-outs
are pushed into the poverty cycle. Through the generous support of contributors, SDI
is helping youth break out of the poverty cycle, and giving them a brighter future by
providing a program that mentors and supports high school drop-outs and gives them a s
econd chance at an education. Our Second Chance High School Home Program provides
housing, tuition, mentoring, and personal developmental support to all program
participants.
Second Chance High School Home participants are given a chance to grow academically,
handle money responsibly, and serve each other and their communities. We now offer the
program to girls as well as boys who are attending high school, intermediate and
university level courses.
